My story....and the co-worker's
Smile Fleas Photography started with the redundancy from my "normal" job. I was faced with looking at the loss of my job as a negative experience or as an opportunity to finally do something that filled my heart. I chose the option of a full heart.
I have an extensive background in art and creativity and decided to take two of my passions and create a work life that meant something to me. Hence my love of photography and dogs, in fact all pets, came together to be Smile Fleas Photography.
I have always had a best friend at my side and I think through the loss of our family dog Billy, I realised just how much of an important family member they are. I have no decent photos of Billy and unfortunately didn't realise this until it was too late. My now co-worker, Pepsi, has been photographed from every angle, in numerous locations and is always by my side to help with editing and just keeping me accountable. Actually, she sleeps a lot and hides when I get my camera out but just let me pretend that she does more.
Those of us who know animals realise that they each have their own adorable traits and that unfortunately their time with us is only short, but they stay in our hearts forever.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to photograph pets and their family. I love showing your furry friend's personality and together we are going to get each of them to be the star in their photographs and to provide you with keepsakes to cherish forever.
I dedicate time in my busy schedule to photograph the adoptable dogs and cats for Geelong Animal Rescue (GAR) It is important to me to be able to help these lovable guys and girls to find their forever homes. My aim is to showcase the personality of each precious rescue in their photograph, so that they can be best matched to their new family. I love to be a part of GAR in this way, and I can honestly say that I want to adopt every pet that I photograph..... Oh to be the crazy dog lady is my life mission!
